Virtue signaling is a funny concept. Like someone asking you to be amazing. As soon as you start trying - anything that might actually make you amazing vanishes in a puff of vanity and conceit.

Being good is a misnomer. It assumes an action that actually isn't taking place. One does good and over time is perceived to be a good person.

Therein lies the rub. Many people today are into shortcuts, clipped message. Great results, minimal effort taken. So, virtue signaling is one way to get the applause without actually doing anything for it.

Like standing under a rainbow with a sign that reads: Look what I did!
