We can make the assumption that “democrats out there” think Bernie is a socialist. That’s he'll send the economy careening off the nearest cliff. (You remember, the one that Walls Street almost sent us over 10 years ago.)

But what Bernie is asking for is what almost every other major county and economy already has in place.

If we tally up the farm subsidies, the oil subsidies, the unfettered approvals for Big Pharma, the $trillion tax break for all corporations, on and on, ad nauseam, then we are already in the Land of Socialism. It’s just not the socialism that “everyone” is accusing Bernie of.

If wanting universal medical care, forgiveness for the $1.6 trillion in student loans that is crippling our younger generation, and a reduced defense budget that surpasses: China, Russia, UK, India, German, Saudi Arabia and France combined — then I guess I’m a socialist too.

Let’s, despite the inestimable resistance that exists at this point — have a little faith that the system will work this time. Seriously, we need to do this. It’s not Peter Pan or Cinderella thinking to believe this is possible.

You’re sitting at the bedside of someone you love who’s in the hospital. You know the odds. Do you stop believing (praying .. wishing) because of them, or do you say, “Fuck, it, she’s going to pull through?”
