I'm an avid TV watcher - I like the science and art of making programs that resonate. Over the years I have lamented the loss of great shows that lasted all of 6 episodes while remakes of old sit-coms and exact copies of others get renewed season after season.
Sometimes you can bring world class cuisine in to Comic-Con or other conferences with lots of people and it will be the cheeseburgers that sell out. It comes down to what people want, when they want it.
Producing good content also means working on your craft. The better the writer is as her craft the more likely success will follow. There is something about competence that attracts.
