Well done to Sofia! It's interesting - even if ugly at times - how our prejudices get so wound up in everyday perceptions that's it's almost impossible to actually see what we're looking at.
Down Syndrome apparently means something "special" to many people - mostly men as pointed out. That they need to be protected (aka kept out of sight) and have their actions limited - for their own good.
Kind of see this same reaction recently in how many men view women in general. Special - but need to be protected, kept from temptation.
Need to keep exposing the hyprocrisy of it. Cheers, Sean.
