We're constantly comparing ourselves - as to our hair, our eyes, the car we drive - so why not have everyone else chime in and give their version of what's wrong with us. Not! 😒
I've read unpublished scripts in the past that were great - would make really cool movies. But the writer couldn't get anyone to read them. Then most of the scripts used as examples in classes I took were formulaic - predictable. Exciting in finished form because of CGI, great music, good acting - but the story was cobbled together from bits of past successes.
Is this what we strive to achieve?

There are some good and great writers out there - not on the best sellers list.
We're all funny creatures - we'll travel 20 miles out of our way to buy that trending hamburger and drive past the best tasting one, three blocks away.
Writers must be kind to readers and readers must be kind in return. It's the ideal relationship.
