Wise hope is my friend. π
Complacency is a by-product of fatigue. Of long-term, unrelenting, unrepentant refusal to do the job one was elected to do.
Americans work very hard and harder still to earn the time to reflect and make decisions that affect our lives.
And when this time is wasted; when officials pretend to listen - while taking instructions from lobbyists and vested interests - all in an effort to get re-elected - Americans implode. They begin using their votes like projectiles - hurling them at others in the hope it'll make so damn difference and get someone, anyone, off their ass.
However, this method is fraught with danger. Anger is the worst possible emotion to be immersed in when making important life decisions.
Our political process has been co-opted by the 1%. They are now buying mayors, governors, senators and everyone else through massive donations.
Anger and frustration and rage and contempt, thus far have not produced any change.
I'm hoping that love and logic and reason and faith in each other will do the trick. Time will tell.
