There's one thing though, not sure how this affects your basic premise, but I experienced these same traits in Brooklyn.😊 And no matter which way you look at the place, from any angle up, down left or right, there is nothing rural about it. Instead of the farmers it was the working class that got caught in this trap. Those that put in the hours - long and hard - made the commutes, did the overtime, vented about the bosses, the shits at City Hall and all the rest. They locked into what was the right way to do a job, think a thought, raise a kid, pick a candidate, a wife, a job, you name it. All the same? No, distinctly different, I can see that. But very, very similar. Still a great article and a great piece of insight. Cheers.
