Worshipping ancestors in the manner you describe is not like worshipping a God or saint in a temple - that's religious, mostly. What you're describing is respect. Is appreciation for what they did that helped inform who you became in some way. And that's awesome.

Society today is in effing competition with each generation. The boomers look to the Greatest Generation with respect, anger and misgivings. Gen X look to Boomers like a plague let loose on the earth and Millennials are getting whiplash looking to the generations before and after them, wondering who to be leery of.

It's nonsense. Every generation needs to respect the next and get grounded in wisdom not technology. Technology gives us iPhones and AI and sentient refrigerators - right. People give us peace of mind and direction - if we pursue it with love and compassion.
