You see that guy you're walking past right now - the one you've never seen before, stepping onto the bus; or getting into his car; or backing out of Starbucks with a Vente Latte. He's on Twitter.

Do you feel compelled to know what he thinks, feels or is having for dinner?

We spent great lengths of our lives without Twitter and survived. Twitter is a great amplifier of the banal. Meaningless rants and anonymous digs on others. Quotes that may lift spirits or just add to the clutter.

I've become a reluctant member of a new branch of Luddites - I don't like social media. Twitter or Facebook. I don't like what it leaves in its wake.

I don't see its inherent value. 10 to 1 bad news conveyed compared to good - that's what I read about every day. So many complaints. So much hand wringing and fear of what they might do. How it misleads, misinforms and so on. If we are so tired of how it performs - why do we care so much? I'm confused.

I vote NO on $8, $3 or 50 cents. I like emails and letters for communication - okay and phone texts. Photos - attach them to an email - show the family how your grandchild is walking.

There are other more meaningful ways to interact with people - like actually talking to them in person. Don't Uber your pizza, go up and talk to the person at the counter. Find out their stories live.

Thanks for listening. 😊🌹
